Ferry to Nanaimo from Horseshoe Bay (30 minutes North of Vancouver) or take the Tswassen Ferry (45 minutes south of Vancouver) Time: 1.5 hrs from Horseshoe Bay or 2 hrs from Tswassen.

From Nanaimo travel north on the Island Highway to Port Alberni (approx. 1 hr) Follow the road signs to Bamfield, on a 90 km well maintained logging road (approx. 1 hr 45 min).

From Swartz Bay you travel south to Victoria (20 min.), take the Island Hwy North to Duncan (1 hr) travel east to Lake Cowichan, following road signs to Bamfield a 2 hr 15 min drive on a 120 km logging road - 4 hr total just follow the power poles.
