Bamfield has many activities to choose from !

Fishing Adventure
Brian is the fifth generation of McKay to fish the West Cost. The 27' welded aluminum boats offer high-tech fishing gear and navigational electronics. Please e-mail or phone for this seasons fishing rates.

Marine Safari
Bring your camera! Grey, Humpback and Killer whales; porpoises, seals, sea  lions, and elephant seals migrate the coastal waters just a short boat ride from the Lodge.

Hike
Spectacular rainforest trails start at the back door. We’ll pack your lunch, keep the hot tub warm, and have dinner waiting. Remember to check out the historic boardwalk.

Kayak
Kayaks are available for rent or bring your own. The sheltered waters and deserted beaches of the Broken Group are a short paddle away. Double or single kayaks are available for rent from the Lodge. We also transport paddlers the Broken Group or Deer Group Islands for kayaking day trips that include a packed lunch. Ask for details.

Bike
Local logging roads offer avid bikers panoramic views of Barkley Sound and Pacific Rim National Park.

Bird Watch
Bamfield is renowned for its wide variety of birds. Bald Eagles, Ospreys, and Herons are common. Look for the endangered Marbled Murrelet and Spotted Owl.

Dive
Rated as the number 2 diving destination in the world, the under water treasures of Barkley Sound are only minutes away.Complete diving packages are available.Divers are always  welcome at the McKay Bay Lodge.
